Professor Liu Qiang, a senior expert in intelligent processing and advanced CNC technology at Mechanical Engineering and Automation of Beihang University, led a delegation to visit OPMT to jointly explore the new future of precision manufacturing!
Professor Liu from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation of Mechanical Engineering and Automation of Beihang University led a research team to visit Guangdong Original Point Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “OPMT”) from June 23 to 24. As a senior expert in the field of intelligent processing and advanced CNC technology, Professor Liu focused on the cutting-edge practice of precision manufacturing technology during this trip. Through exhibition hall explanations, production line demonstrations and technical dialogues, he conducted an in-depth technical exchange with OPMT. OPMT Chairman Bruce Zeng and CTO Derek Qian warmly received and accompanied them throughout the trip.

Professor Liu and his delegation first visited the OPMT exhibition hall. Mr. Derek Qian and Mr. Bruce Zeng jointly presented the company’s development history from its establishment to the present, emphasizing the significant breakthroughs and deep accumulation in precision laser processing core technologies.
A clear picture of the company’s development and its robust technical capabilities was unveiled. The Beihang experts were particularly impressed by the research and development achievements of their core equipment, especially the five-axis precision laser processing CNC machine tools and Ultrafast laser micro machining systems, as well as their excellent application performance in high-end manufacturing fields such as aerospace and precision instruments.

Next, Professor Liu and his delegation visited OPMT’s modern production workshop, where they observed a live demonstration of precision processing by their core high-end CNC machine tools. As the equipment ran steadily, laser beams precisely sculpted intricate parts, showcasing nanometer-level precision control and the ability to process complex curved surfaces.
The Beihang experts highly commended the sophisticated design, outstanding performance, and intelligent control of OPMT’s equipment. A lively technical exchange ensued, with both parties engaging in in-depth discussions on practical issues such as optimizing processing techniques and improving efficiency.

CTO Derek Qian, along with key technical personnel, drew upon their extensive experience in industrialization to analyze the critical challenges and considerations currently faced in the R&D of high-end laser equipment, the domestication of core components, and the expansion of market applications.
Chairman Bruce Zeng, approaching from a corporate strategy and industry development perspective, emphasized the urgency and importance of deep integration of industry, academia, and research to resolve core technical challenges and enhance international competitiveness.
